relief for ryder

Ryder’s eyes tell you everything—this sweet Shih Tzu is uncomfortable, inflamed, and in desperate need of relief.

When Cameron Animal Hospital welcomed Ryder into their care, they knew he needed more than love to heal. His skin was raw from severe allergies, his eyes constantly irritated, and despite their best efforts, nothing brought him lasting comfort.

While a compassionate local vet offered a free eye exam, Ryder needs expert help from a dermatologist at the University of Pennsylvania to get real answers and a treatment plan.

Thanks to a PAW grant, Cameron Animal Hospital is able to move forward with specialized care for Ryder—lifting the heavy financial burden off their shoulders so they can focus on what matters most: helping Ryder heal.

To our generous PAW supporters: Your donations are changing lives. Because of you, dogs like Ryder don’t have to suffer in silence. They get the second chance—and expert care—they deserve.

daisy marie's fight

Daisy Marie’s life took a scary turn when she was diagnosed with heartworm disease—a serious condition caused by parasitic worms that live in the heart, lungs, and blood vessels. Left untreated, it can be fatal.

When @FriendsofWagOnInn stepped in to save Daisy Marie, they knew she needed urgent, specialized care to treat complications from heartworm. Emergency treatment can be costly, but it was the only way to give her the healthy future she deserved.

Thanks to a grant from PAW, part of Daisy Marie’s medical expenses were covered—helping the rescue get her the lifesaving care she needed without carrying the full financial burden alone.

To our incredible PAW donors: your support ensures that when medical emergencies strike, rescues can act fast to save lives. You are the reason dogs like Daisy Marie get their second chance.

james's fresh start

James’s journey to a forever home wasn’t simple—but it was worth every step. When Friends of Wag On Inn Rescue took him in, they knew he would need a life-changing surgery: an amputation to give him the comfort and mobility he deserved.

Even after James found his adoptive family, WOI stayed committed to covering his surgery costs—a powerful example of how rescues remove financial barriers so dogs in need can move out of shelters and into loving homes without delay.

Thanks to the help of a grant from PAW covering some of the cost, James received the surgery he needed, and his new family was able to focus on helping him heal and thrive.

To our PAW donors: you make this possible. Your generosity empowers rescues to say “yes” to dogs like James, ensuring that nothing stands in the way of a second chance.

second chance for sheldon

Sheldon had no one. Found wandering as a stray, this sweet pup was taken in by the caring team at Friends of Wag On Inn Rescue —and that’s when his second chance began. Upon intake, the WOI team realized Sheldon needed extensive dental care to feel his best. These procedures are often costly and can create barriers for adopters—so it’s rescue organizations that shoulder the responsibility to ensure dogs like Sheldon are healthy and adoption-ready.

Thanks to a grant from PAW, Sheldon’s dental care was covered, relieving his pain and giving him the fresh start he deserves—all without placing this financial burden on his future family or the Wag On Inn team that saved him.

To every PAW donor: Your generosity removes obstacles and opens doors for dogs in need. You make stories like Sheldon’s possible.

lily's lifeline

Imagine watching your dog struggle to breathe, knowing help exists—but you just can’t afford it. That was Lily’s reality when she was surrendered in January, her family heartbroken but unable to give her the care she desperately needed.

Thankfully, Halfway Home Animal Rescue Team stepped in and found Lily a loving foster, but her medical needs were significant: surgery to help her breathe, spay surgery to prevent life-threatening pyometra, cherry eye repair, and correction of a painful luxating patella. The cost of treating it all—nearly $10,000—was overwhelming.

That’s where PAW and our donors came in. Thanks to a grant made possible by your support, Lily is finally getting the surgeries she needs to live comfortably and pain-free—all without placing the full financial burden on the rescue that saved her.

To every person who donates to PAW: you make second chances like Lily’s possible. Your support turns heartbreak into healing.

mason and misty's loss

Mason and Misty lost the only family they had ever known when their beloved mom—an avid rescue volunteer—passed away suddenly. Grieving the loss of a parent, friend and their home, these beautiful mixes needed more than just medical care; they needed time, patience, and love to heal emotionally, too.

Friends of Wag On Inn Rescue stepped in to give Mason and Misty the stability and support they desperately needed. Providing both medical treatment and emotional rehabilitation, Wag On Inn honored their mom’s legacy by ensuring her dogs were safe and cared for during such a painful transition.

Thanks to a grant from PAW, Wag On Inn could focus on helping Mason and Misty adjust and recover without being weighed down by overwhelming veterinary expenses.

To our PAW donors: Your generosity means that when tragedy strikes, pets like Mason and Misty aren’t left behind. You are the bridge between heartbreak and healing.

surgery for sourdough

After 11 years, Sourdough was surrendered to AHS-Newark without a second glance—overweight, confused, and struggling to walk due to overgrown nails and large mammary tumors. One mass was so large it pressed against her chest, causing her to wheeze like a piglet.

But thanks to your support, PAW was able to provide a grant to Halfway Home Animal Rescue Team to help cover Sourdough’s medical bills—and give her a real chance.

She’s now safe, loved, and decompressing in a foster home in the countryside, where she’s turned into a total cuddle bug. Belly rubs? Yes, please. Sunbathing? Absolutely. New dog friends? She’s obsessed.

Sourdough underwent surgery to remove a full chain of mammary tumors and be spayed. Her bloodwork is strong, her spirit is stronger—and she’s proving every day that senior dogs are so worth saving.

a ride for Rocky and Phoebe

We’re honored to have sponsored the transportation costs for two very special pups—Rocky and Phoebe—on their journey to safety with CH Boxer Rescue.

By covering transport, we helped ease a major financial burden, allowing Chelsea’s to redirect their limited resources toward critical medical care, including spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, heartworm testing, and health certifications.

This is exactly what our mission is about—stepping in where needed to make sure rescues can stretch their funds further and focus on lifesaving care. We’re honored to stand beside Chelsea’s Hope and so many dedicated partners doing this important work.

We’re grateful to Chelsea’s Hope  for their ongoing commitment to animals in need.

surgery for sophia and baby

Sophia, a brave mama dog now under the care of Pick Your Paw Animal Rescue—and the latest recipient of a PAW medical grant. Her story is one of heartbreak, hope, and incredible resilience.

After struggling to give birth at home, Sophia was rushed to Red Bank Veterinary Hospital. She had already delivered two puppies—both sadly lost—and still had two more inside her. An ultrasound revealed that one puppy had a heartbeat. The other did not. Her owner, unable to afford the emergency care Sophia desperately needed, made the difficult decision to surrender her.

Thanks to the fast-acting team at the hospital and the compassionate support of Pick Your Paw, Sophia underwent an emergency C-section and was stabilized. She was also spayed during surgery to prevent future complications and give her the healthiest life possible moving forward.

Through it all, Sophia has shown amazing strength. She’s healing well, and receiving the love and care she deserves in her foster home.

PAW is proud to have provided a medical grant to help cover the costs of Sophia’s emergency surgery, hospitalization, and post-operative care—ensuring that rescues like Pick Your Paw can say “yes” to animals in crisis without being burdened by overwhelming veterinary expenses.
